Hydrochar Pelletization towards Solid Biofuel from Biowaste Hydrothermal Carbonization

نویسندگان

چکیده

Hydrothermal carbonization is highly applicable to high moisture biomass upgrading due fact that involved can be directly used as reaction media under subcritical-water region. With this, value-added utilization of hydrochar solid fuel with carbon and energy density one the important pathways for conversion. In this review, dewatering properties after hydrothermal biowaste, coalification degree elemental composition evolution, pelletization enhance mechanical density, coupled combustion biofuel were discussed various parameters. Potential applications co-combustion coal, cleaner balance biowaste presented well challenges.

Physicochemical, Pyrolytic, and Combustion Characteristics of Hydrochar Obtained by Hydrothermal Carbonization of Biomass

Effects of the type of biomass and temperature, with longer residence time, on physicochemical characteristics of hydrochar were investigated. Different carbonization conditions were applied with the goal of producing hydrochars having better physicochemical properties. After the carbonization process, the pyrolysis and combustion behaviors of hydrochar were evaluated. The effect of temperature...

Conversion of Municipal Solid Wastes into Biochar through Hydrothermal Carbonization

In this study, the hydrothermal treatment of municipal solid wastes (MSWs) for the production of biochar as a renewable solid fuel was investigated. The properties of surrogate MSWs and mixtures of newspaper and vegetables were greatly improved by hydrothermal treatment and were similar to those of coal-like fuel substances. Hydrothermal treatment increased the calorific value, the fixed carbon...

Comparative evaluation of conventional and microwave hydrothermal carbonization of human biowaste for value recovery.

This paper compares conventional and microwave hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of human biowaste (HBW) at 160 °C, 180 °C and 200 °C as a potential technology to recover valuable carbonaceous solid fuel char and organic-rich liquor. Also discussed are the influence of HTC heating methods and temperature on HBW processing conversion into solid fuel char, i.e. yield and post-HTC management, dewat...

Analysis of Solid and Aqueous Phase Products from Hydrothermal Carbonization of Whole and Lipid-Extracted Algae

Microalgae have tremendous potential as a feedstock for production of liquid biofuels, particularly biodiesel fuel via transesterification of algal lipids. However, biodiesel production results in significant amounts of algal residues, or “lipid extracted algae” (LEA). Suitable utilization of the LEA residue will improve the economics of algal biodiesel. In the present study, we evaluate the hy...

Production of Hydroxylapatite from Biowaste, Chicken Manure by Hydrothermal Process

Hydrothermal process has been applied for effective production of Hydrogen from biowastes. In this study hydrothermal process for production of valuable Hydroxylapatitefrom chicken manure containing phosphorus was focused on. Conditions of 400 ̊C and 26 27 MPa with addition of 1 mmol Ca(OH)2 were determined as the optimal by using Ophospho-DL-serine as a model compound. Afterwards, the real biow...
